Pick The Hole Location at PGA Championship

In the age of social media and enhanced fan engagement with their favourite sports stars, The PGA Championship at Oak Hill is going a step further in making the game an interactive experience.

In an historic first, golf fans will be able to decide the location for the last par-3 of the final round - #15 - at the 2013  PGA Championship. The 181-yarder will have its pin placement decided from fans via their computer screens.

"It really was Jack's idea to get more fan participation in the championship," said Kerry Haigh, PGA of America Chief Championships Officer. "And what better way than to select a hole location in the final round of the PGA Championship?"

While none of the four options is an easy option for the Tour stars to take on - three bunkers guard the left of the green and there's a water hazard on the right - Jack Nicklaus, who is hosting the challenge, insists that option 'D' is the toughest and most challenging as it forces players to take on the pin, plays the longest and brings the back bunkers into play.

Nicklaus and Oak Hill will always have a strong association, being the setting for his memorable PGA Championship win in 1980, which was a won by a then-record seven strokes.
