Pavin is not worried about Tiger

US Ryder Cup Captain, Corey Pavin does not believe he has taken a risk in selecting Tiger Woods as one of his wild cards

Woods was named along with Rickie Fowler, Stewart Clink and Zach Johnson to complete the team that will take on Europe in Wales next month.

"I was hoping he would qualify on points, but he didn't and so I waited to see how he played."

"He is one of 12 on the team and everyone is just as important. The objective is to have 12 players that make up Team USA and have one goal in mind."

It is Woods sixth appearance in the Ryder Cup, but the first time he has had to rely on a Captains pick for his inclusion in the Team. He missed the last Ryder two years ago where the USA were victorious due to a knee injury.

Woods, who is still the World number one, is expected to play with Steve Stricker, with whom he won four out of four games at the Presidents Cup eleven months ago.

However Pavin has not confirmed this saying "There are a lot of combinations out there and I'm not afraid to put anybody with anybody. Nothing is set in stone yet."
