Golf Clubs – The Movies – Films Of The Millennium

Golf Clubs The Movies Films Of The Millennium

The movies have always shown their appreciation for golf clubs. Having moved into the 21 st century of film making, golf's reputation remains high.

The Greatest Game Ever Player (2005)

The latest movie to feature the swing of a golf club was screened in 2005. The Greatest Game Ever Played' is a biographical sports film directed by Bill Paxton. The film is set in 1913 and is about an amateur golf player called Francis Quimet who was expected by all his peers to perform badly at the forthcoming 1913 U.S. Open golf championships. Quimet had it drilled into him that he was incapable of competing against professionals and Francis' father told him that he wasn't allowed to pursue golf anymore. After getting a once in a lifetime chance, Francis defies his father's wishes and competes in the tournament.

The movie proves that against all odds, Quimet is able to use his golf club to eventually beat the British Champions Harry Vardon and Ted Ray who are considered the world's best golfers at that time. The film is a test of one boy's physical and mental endurance to prove to those he loves that he is a successful golfer player.
