Hall of Fame

Over a hundred golfers are immortalized in the World Golf Hall of Fame located in Florida , America . History

The World Golf Hall of Fame began as a private museum in North Carolina in 1974. It was a local project that the American PGA took over in 1983. As a result the PGA merged its own Hall of Fame established in 1940 and the Women's Golf Hall of Fame from 1951 to create a definitive list of the men and women who swung their golf clubs into the history books. The Hall was part of an initiative by the World Golf Foundation which aims to promote the sport.

Museum

The Hall of Fame museum has an exhibition that covers the broad history of the game and the golf clubs and courses world-wide, as well as a rolling program of temporary exhibitions. It celebrates the legends and legacies of golf's champions. It features golf clubs and other memorabilia of some of the game's most famous players and offers the chance to experience a sense of history.

Membership

To be admitted to the Hall of Fame, players must have multiple tournament victories.
