Hawkeye

A man was looking for a new caddy one day when his friend said "I know a great caddy - he is 90 years old but he has eyes like a hawk". "OK," said the man "tell him I'm playing again in a week." The week passed and the day of the game arrived. They started playing and the golfer hit a perfect drive off his golf tee he carried as part of his golf equipment and accessories, and he said to the caddy "Did you see where it went?" The caddy replied "Yes". "OK then, where is it?" The caddy replied "I forgot."

What a co-incidence

Mrs Argea Tissies, whose husband Hermann took 15 at Royal Troon's Postage Stamp 8th hole in the 1950 Open, scored an ace at the 2nd hole at Punta Ala in the second round of the Italian Ladies' Senior Open of 1978. Exactly five years later on the same date, at the same time of day, in the same round of the same tournament at the same hole, she did it again with the same club. It wasn't reported whether she used the same golf tee or any other piece of her golf equipment or accessories.

Blind Ambition

Anyone who has ever swung and missed, top edged or sliced a ball into the rough knows that golf is a tricky game at the best of times. But 40 players in a competition at Ratho Golf Club in 2006 faced an additional handicap - they were all blind or partially sighted. Golfers were aided by their caddies who advised them on direction, how strongly they should hit their shots, potential obstacles and where to place their golf tees and other equipment and accessories.

The good news and the bad news

Tom was a man of faith, and a man of the golf course. He played golf every Sunday religiously, but only after attending church services. One day after feeling ill, he said to his wife, "I sure hope there is golf in the afterlife. I feel terrible!" His wife told him to say a prayer, so he headed to church. He kneeled to pray - "Oh Lord, I hope that when I reach Heaven I can still play golf." As soon as he finished, a voice thundered: "Tom, this is the Lord. Tom was ecstatic, "That's wonderful! You've answered my prayer! But what is the bad news?" The Lord replied, "You tee off tomorrow at 9 a.m."
