The American designer of golf courses, Pete Dye, has spent several decades testing his golf clubs on his renowned greens. Dye is known for his 1966 Crooked Stick Golf Club, one of the best rated golf courses in the US .

Born in Ohio in 1925, Dye is from a famous family of designers of golf courses. His wife Alice Dye, whom he married in 1950, swung her own golf clubs to become an amateur champion and is also a fellow designer of golf courses.
