Golf Clubs – Techniques – Master the Swing

Golf Clubs Techniques Master the Swing

Before you hit the golf course you need to practice with your clubs on your swing techniques.

The right golf clubs

Before you start your swing technique, you need to ensure you pick the right golf club for the shot. It sounds obvious but different golf clubs are used to achieve different distances and accuracy, depending on your skill.

Before you start

Grip, stance, and swing are the three basic golf techniques you should master before you start to play properly with your golf clubs. If you need to hit the shot a little further, your instincts tell you to swing as hard as you can but swinging harder doesn't always equate to more distance.

The Swing

The most important golf technique is probably the swing if you can't swing your golf clubs correctly you won't optimize your game. There are three steps to this golf technique that you need to remember when you swing your golf clubs:

  • Backswing
  • Downswing
  • Follow-Through

Stance

The position of your golf clubs and ensuring you follow-through technique is good is just as important as your strength when you hit the ball. Technique and the physics of the golf clubs work together more than brut strength.

The Backswing

The clubface of your golf club and the back of your left hand should be facing front as you lift your clubs away from the ball.

The Downswing

This technique requires control and balance when you bring your golf clubs down to hit the ball, the angle of your club shaft and left forearm should remain unchanged as your club and hands moves towards the toe line. The key to this technique is not to hit' the ball but to swing through as if it is simply in the path of your golf clubs, not something you are aiming for.

Follow-Through

This part of the swing techniques finishes the trajectory of your golf clubs this ensures you are swinging fully and not just hitting the ball. The power of the swing depends on the shot you are taking clearly a driving shot demands more power than a putting shot. For putting, the swing technique remains the same, but you should think more of a pendulum in a grandfather clock when you swing your golf clubs.

Driving shots

If you want to increase the length of your driving shots, than you need to combine the swing techniques with physical fitness. Although golf is not about sheer brut force, you do need conditioned and flexible muscles to control your golf clubs and add power to their swing.
