Oosthuizen and Schwartzel to join 2011 PGA Tour

South Africans Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel have joined the PGA Tour for 2011 season.

28 year old Oosthuizen is currently ranked 23rd in the Official World Golf Ranking. He has had two wins this season; The Open de Andalucía de Golf in March and then the Open Championship at St.Andrews, Scotland in July, where he beat Lee Westwood by seven strokes. His 272 score was the second lowest ever recorded in St. Andrews history.

Due to an ankle injury caused when he fell down a hole, Oosthuizen has been forced to withdraw from a few golfing events. He returned to the World Golf Championships in Shanghai wearing a brace and is expected to compete in this week’s Dubai World Championship.

Schwartzel is currently ranked 37th in the World Golf Rankings. He has won on the European Tour five times with two consecutive wins this season, both in his home country; The Africa Open and The Joburg Open.

Oosthuizen earned a five year PGA Exemption won he won the Open Golf Championship and Schwartzel qualifies having earnt enough money as a non-member, finishing in the top 125 on the money list
