Tiger Woods PGA Championships feature

With his dominance last week at the WGC-Bridgestone, Tiger Woods is once again the favorite going into a major in 2013 - in this case, the PGA Championships, which kick off Thursday at the East Course of the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.

Woods is No. 1 in the world and has won five tournaments so far this season, but the one thing he has not done in more than five years running is win a Major - the signature that determines greatness in golf, just as the four Grand Slams do in tennis.

Woods' overall greatness is unquestionable, he has 14 Majors under his belt, second only to Jack Nickalus' 18 in the pantheons of golf. But what seemed inevitable - his passing Nickalus, now looks further and further from becoming a reality as Woods is unable to take over the big tournaments the way he used to before the events of late 2009 that ultimately led to his divorce and his loss of quite a few of his major sponsors.

Woods' last major victory came on June 16, 2008 at the US Open in La Jolla, California. It was the kind of win that was quintessential Tiger - he hadn't practiced much, his left knee was bothering him, and still he won the title on a sudden-death playoff hole against Rocco Mediate, only to announce two days later he would miss the rest of that season in order to have knee surgery.

We all know how Tiger has changed since his last Major victory, but how has the game of golf and our world as a whole transformed since the last time he won one of the four biggest tournaments on the planet? Here's a comparison of then and now.
