Bryd wins with a hole-in-one

Jonathan Bryd has won the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open held in Las Vegas this weekend.

Bryd won a three-man playoff with defending champion Martin Laird and Cameron Percy on the fourth play-off hole with a hole in one, hit with his six iron on the 204 yard 17th. They had each made par on the previous three play-off holes.

Only moments earlier the three of them had discussed whether there was enough light to continue, and decided on one more hole with the understanding that any of them could stop if they could not read their putts on the green

It started perfect, it turned perfect and it was coming right down the flag," Byrd said. "I thought I hit it too good. I thought I hit it too far. And I couldn't see anything. But to hear the reaction as it went in, I was just in shock."

Byrd won $774,000 and this his first win since the 2007 John Deere Classic

The PGA have said it isthe first sudden-death play off to be decided by an Ace
