The World’s top three golfers will tee off together tomorrow at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.
Lee Westwood, Martin Kaymer and Tiger Woods have all been drawn together for the first two rounds on Thursday and Friday.
All three have a good record in this event held at the Emirates Golf Club. Westwood finished runner up to Miguel Angel Jimenez last year, Kaymer finished fourth last year and second in 2008, while Tiger won the tournament in 2006 and 2008.
It is the first time since 1994, that the world’s top three golfers have played the same event on the European Tour, other than the Majors and the world Golf Championships
It will also be the first time that Kaymer has played with Tiger. Kaymer, who pushed Tiger into third position when he won the Abu Dhabi Championship three weeks ago said
“I’ve never played with Tiger Woods before,” he said. “Of course I've met him but I don't know how it is to play with him, so it will be nice. It will be great for the tournament, having the top three playing on Thursday and Friday. So I look forward to it.”
Kaymer will also have the opportunity this week to once again try and take the number one spot from Westwood, after he failed to do so last week in Qatar, but anything less than second place means that Westwood will still remain at number one.
