Wozzilroy deny breakup speculation

For all the tabloid talk of ructions in his love life upsetting World No1 Rory McIlroy's game after a dismal start to the 2013 season, both members that make up "Wozzilroy" - that being the Ulsterman and his sports star partner Tennis' Caroline Wozniaki - have given clear statements to the press that everything is A-OK on that front.

"Just because I have a bad day on the golf course and Caroline loses a match in Malaysia, it doesn't mean that we're breaking up," McIlroy reiterated in the build up to Augusta National and the first major of the year.

"It's sport. And look, I'd rather keep my private life as private as possible. Everything on that front is great, and I'm looking forward to seeing her next week when she goes to Miami."

Wozniaki's form has also mirrored her beau's of late and the former Women's No1 has seen her ranking steadily drop of late. But any added pressure of being half of sport's power couple is nothing new, she stressed.

“We’ve been in the media spotlight for so long separate as well, you know, so it’s not like it’s something new,” Wozniaki said.

“I think we’ve gotten used to that part of it. We don’t really pay attention to it anymore. Unless it’s a rumor like the there was the other day that we’ve broken up and I was like ‘Oh really? I didn’t realize that. Thanks for letting me know.’”
