The much anticipated show down between Tiger Woods and Adam Scoot has come to fruition after the pair have been drawn against each other on the first day of the Presidents Cup
Woods will partner Steve Stricker, while Scott will play with KJ Choi of South Korea. The match comes just a fortnight after Woods former caddie, who is now carries the bag for Scott made raciest remarks about his former employer.
Both Captains, Greg Norman for the International team and Fred Couples for the United States side have emphasized that the match had not been premeditated, but that it would be better to get it out of the way as chances were very high that the pair would play at some point during the tournament.
“I think it's great for the tournament. It needed to be done,” Norman said.
“It played out the way it played out. There wasn't any premeditation by it”
“I think at the end of the day the guys in that last group will be the consummate professionals and go out and play the game of golf representing their International team and the US team the way they should do.”
As defending champions the USA had the choice of choosing the first pairings or let the Internationals choose fist. Couples opted for the latter option and let Norman pick first. The last pairing to be picked was Woods/Stricker against Scott/Choi
