Final Rankings: 2012 U.S. Masters Line-Up Set

With no Official World Golf Ranking events next week, the latest rankings release will represent the final Ranking of the year with the Top-50 receiving invitations to the 2012 Masters Tournament, the World Golf Ranking website announced this week.

The players qualifying for the prestigious invites include the highest ranked American World No6 Steve Stricker, fellow top-10 players Dustin Johnson (7) and Webb Simpson (10).

Along with them will be Matt Kuchar, Nick Watney, Phil Mickelson, Hunter Mahan, Bubba Watson, Tiger Woods, David Toms, Bill Haas, Bo Van Pelt, Keegan Bradley, Rickie Fowler, Jason Dufner,Zach Johnson, Brandt Snedeker and Jim Furyk.

Anthony Kim, Sean O'Hair, Ben Crane and Jeff Overton all placed outside of the top 50 in the final rankings.

In the final World Golf Rankings of 2011, two players gained big wins to cement their places in the top 20.

Englishman Lee Westwood who had been overtaken by US Open champion Rory McIlroy earlier this month, reclaimed his No2 spot after crushing the field at last week’s Thailand Golf Championships.

Westwood’s compatriot Ian Poulter was the other man surging up the leaderboard by winnning the JBWere Australian Masters title with a final round 67 to win by three shots from fast-finishing Marcus Fraser who came through the field with a final round 64.

Poulter moves up twelve places to No.16 in the final 2011 Ranking and Marcus Fraser moves into the Top-100 at No.97.

The first Ranking in 2012 will be issued on January 9 following the Hyundai Tournament of Champions on the PGA TOUR (Monday finish), the co-sanctioned Africa Open on the Sunshine and European Tours and the Victorian Open on the PGA Tour of Australasia.
