McDowell beats Tiger in Play-Off

Us Open Champion Graeme McDowell has denied Tiger Woods his only chance of a win this year.

Irishman McDowell came back from a four stroke deficit on the final day after Tiger had his first disastrous round at the Chevron World Challenge, Thousand Oaks, California, including a double bogey at the 13th.

McDowell forced a playoff after he carded five birdies in his final round. On the first playoff hole, the 18th he birdie putted to win the tournament.

“Playing one of the greatest golfers who has ever played and to beat him like this I'm just ecstatic," said McDowell, but he still believes Tiger will once again be a force to be reckoned with

“He used to appear invincible. Of course he has made himself appear more human in the last 12 months, but there's something a bit special about his golf game and I fully expect that mystique to return." He said

It is McDowell fourth win of a year, which also saw him playing a major part in the Ryder Cup when he secured the winning point for Europe

“2010 has been the stuff of dreams” he said

Paul Casey came in third place with a final round of 69 to finish on 12 under 272
